Consider Saving Your Miles
We generally use your mileage to earn your points. However, we want your money for your investment to stay in good hands. Often airlines use miles on their trips to the Bahamas. This does not provide much value.
It was largely driven by the available cheap cash prices in the Bahamas and also by the excessive taxes and fees charged by passengers on flights leaving from the Bahamas. Even if you take a 15k flight from NYC to the continental US in less than 12 hours on a daily basis, you still have to spend $129.90 in fees. The United States collects $22.33, while the remainder is held by the Bahamas.
Indulge at Atlantis
It is one of the most expensive hotels in the World. This is an island of tropical luxury with a beautiful white beach and spectacular snorkeling. The exhibition has many different exhibits and interactive animal feedings.
The Aquaaventure water park includes 10 pools, enormous water slides and river rapids. There are 16 restaurants ranging from the finest to casual. Day passes to Waterparks are 250 USD when the guests are not staying at hotels or hostels.
How to Save Money on Your Lodging at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas
Once the sun sets the children can enjoy the free outdoor activities. The kitchen at your home at the Reef could cost you big bucks! Get away from your property to enjoy dinner. You have three meals to go! Pineapple Doles - a Whip? All Disney fans should receive ten!
Best Months to Visit
The best period for a trip to the Bahamas is December through mid-April, the peak season. The climate is excellent year-round (the temperature rarely falls below 60 degrees). The islands belong within the hurricane belt, so hurricanes can affect the area from July 1-November 30 of the Atlantic hurricane season.
Almost all of the months (plus May) falls within the region's rainy season, resulting in less days to enjoy outdoor recreation on the island. From mid-November to mid-April, the breathtaking weather attracted many travelers so the prices are high and the crowd is most populated during this period.
How to Stay for “Free” at Atlantis Bahamas
Due to an extreme hack in our travels we were able to travel at Atlantis. So we're talking. Free means the rooms are free but we do charge resort fees and gratuities of almost $60 each day. Still far better at less expensive than usual rates, with several thousand dollars per night plus another $70 extra charge.
Restaurants at Atlantis, Paradise Island: Money Money Money.
The main difference between Atlantis Bahamas and Atlantis is “Food costs”. Yes, certainly. While the restaurant is well-known and fun it simply adds to the bill whenever a person orders it.
We had dinner at Olives for the first nights since we knew how to stay within the Atlanta budget. The food was very good and the water was very tasty. It's about 69 bucks. Next night we ate at the Harbourfront Restaurant Point.
Described as the best spot to view Caribbean sunsets, the food was excellent, but again very expensive. Apparently there were other things we did not see.
Bring Your Own Food
Atlantis has expensive food. The most budget-friendly options at the Marina Pizzeria are our $411 big pizza. Yes, it can be easily divided between a couple and two children, but that pizza costs $411.95 per slice.
If you were really serious in saving you could theoretically have everything you need as stale food, or you could buy dehydrated foods at a Nassau supermarket near the airport. However, I recommend you bring oatmeal, granola bar and your preferred snacks as well. This will make a big difference in price, but quick meals at Atlantis are definitely not worth it.
Visit Harbour Island
The Harbor Islands, situated at Eleuthera's northern edge, are stuffed with ritzy resorts with stunning white-and-pink beaches. This tiny island has a great beach and incredible weather. You can spend the entire day relaxing in the pristine ocean or snorkeling or swimming.
The place is more costly in some places in the Bahamas. If possible, you could just stay at Eleuthera Island or go out in one day.
Grand Bahama Island
Lucayan National Park on Grand Bahama Island is another favorite, though most people only visit this island if they're stopping here on a cruise. You can kayak through mangroves or simply stroll around.
Aquaventure Water Park: Leap of Faith or Lazy River?
Aquaventure was among their greatest attractions on "Atlantis Paradise Island". Guests staying with these hotels have the chance to visit this park at their own expense. Because the area is so vast (141 acres), we did not get to see everything it offers so we're going to return to the hotel.
It has about 20 swimming pools and a few slides. I really love Serpent Tunnel. It took me through an extremely dark tunnel with shark tanks for an easy ride in my inner tube. This year I politely declined the leap of faith, a nearly vertical 60ft drop on top of the Maya Temple's roof.
Take a Walk to Eat Local
The bridge connects Paradise Island with Nassau. If you walk along this bridge there are shacks on shore offering many local dishes as well as beverages. On the second night we walked the bridge from Paradise Island for about 20 minutes to Mckenzie's Fresh Fish & Conch.
It is easily walkable (one of these streets leads to the bridge) with dozens of small restaurants along the edge of the bridge. The pink one just outside the bridge has Mckenzie's, which uses cards and serves Bahaminian meals.
Marine Habitat: meet Mantras, Sharks and Dolphins up close
Discovering the Marine Habitat was a memorable day at Atlantis. We were never told what was available in Atlantis. It's an overwhelming sense that there's a variety of lagoons and caves.
Atlantis – Paradise Island contains the largest open sea environment on Earth. Predator tunnels, rays, sharks, lobsters and digs are amazing. Atlantis is the only marine habitat that produced the rare small-tooth sawfish and is endangered worldwide. It was great watching these beautiful creatures fly over the sea waters.
Go diving in the Tongue of the Ocean
The tongue of the Ocean is an oceanic trench spanning Andrus Island and Providence. The Andros Barrier Reef is the third most significant Barrier Reef around and can provide great diving opportunities.
This deep geological feature is actually an underwater part of the Great Bahama Canyon, and the walls of the trench plunge to nearly 6000 metres to the water surface. The depths can also be seen. Two tanks are around 110 – 130 bSD.

Tour the John Watling's Distillery
It has an 18th-century estate and makes incredibly tasty rum from a local distillery located in Nassau City. If Rum is not your favorite beverage they also produce tasty vodka made from Eleuthera's Pink Sand. Tour is complimentary.
Is the Atlantis Bahamas Dining Plan Worth It?
Our meal was very overpriced, and we were considering buying in with a hyped Atlantis plan. Covering a wide breakfast buffet or two or three courses of food seems almost a good idea. Soon before arrival, registration began.
For two days the meal plans have proved nope, it was certainly not worth the effort. Do not do it on a budget? Though Poseidon's breakfasts were excellent, they were not worth $86 for us. We purchased instant oatmeal from our room and had a less expensive yet more affordable breakfast.

Weather in Bahamas
Switch to Celsius-Mad Max Precipitations. How should we understand Bahamian cuisine? Skip resort-style restaurants and visit local eateries for authentic experiences. Don't overlook Johnny cakes, deep-fried clams fritters and Bahamian rock lobsters! Enjoy an ordinary life.
Bahamians are relaxed and friendly and seldom rush. Don't let this go - it's island time. Bring your beach cover. Bahamians are relatively small and older generations tend to keep it under control before escaping.
Budget Friendly Food in Atlantis
Instead of a meal out of a restaurant, a car to another store will cost $15 for the trip. Nuts, crackers, fruit, oatmeal, and noodles offer many possibilities to you. You are likely to save incredibly little in the end.
After our taxi ride to the market we discovered there is actually a small supermarket nearby. The nearest grocery stores are located a few hundred metres away from the hotel.
Bahamas Travel Costs
Hostels are cheap in Bahamas. There are barely any hostels there since this is a luxurious resort and camping near the sea is prohibited. You can opt for an affordable hotel or Airbnb option. Budget hotel costs start from 150-150 USD/night.
Get all necessary facilities, such as free WiFi and air-conditioning. Some of them offer complimentary breakfasts. Airbnb can be rented in a private hotel in the Bahamas. The room price varies from 200 to 400 BSD / night.
In total homes / apartments, the average is 270 BSD a day. Book early or the price goes doubled. Interestingly, traditional cuisines are highly dependent on seafood.
Comfort Suites Paradise Island is Better for your Budget
In my research on this topic, I discovered that the experience in a hotel in the Atlantis without staying in it will cost the family more. In response, some people mentioned the comfortable suites Paradise Island, located in walking distance from the Atlantis Resort.
Reserving an apartment in comfort suites will give your group four Atlantis passes a day each day. Sometimes the tickets are cheaper than the days if they pass at the Atlantis hotels. Additional benefits include complimentary breakfast for all parties.

How to Stay Safe in the Bahamas
While the Bahamas are generally considered safe, some areas in Nassau are experiencing greater crime. Try staying away from “on the hill” (south of Shirley Street) at the end of the night. The majority of the crimes are directed against people from other Bahamian countries so no worries.
Please take good care. Keep everything safe on the beach or anywhere else. Ensure no valuables are in rented vehicles overnight as theft could happen. Scams can be very rare however you can find out some of the pitfalls that travelers must avoid here. Solo females should always be able to travel safely here.
