Las Vegas on a Budget: Tips + Cheap Things to Do | Two Wandering Soles

Hike Red Rock Canyon

If the bright lights get too big then head to Red Rock Canyon. One route crosses the canyon, and the trailheads are fenced in a parking lot for you to park. The Calico Tank Trail is about 1.5 miles (4 km) wide.

On your way there is a natural water cylinder leading to a top that gives an excellent panorama of Las Vegas. Bring a lot of water, a cap and sunscreen. This entrance fee costs $15 for each vehicle (or $15 if one walks on foot), and the scenic loop runs between 6 and 5:00.

Visit the Marjorie Barrick Museum

If you'd like to visit college campus while you are vacationing in Las Vegas you might have to ask? The Marjorie Barrington Museum can be accessed on the campus of UNLV. There is a three-mile walk from the station. Here you will experience great modern and contemporary art works as you enjoy an enjoyable break from Las Vegas. Another excellent thing!

Free and cheap pools in Las Vegas

If you were not in a hotel with a good pool, you could easily have access to chlorine in another property too. However, the price does vary depending on where you're staying. There's a possibility that you have to pay a cover price or hire day beds or a cabana (it is an excellent option for groups).

The pool in Las Vegas sometimes cost the most to a guy. A few people also note discounts for local residents and military members. Here are some of the best pool options in Las Vegas. Some of these have no cost to you! Citrus Grand Deck.

Best time to visit Las Vegas

Las Vegas has amazing weather all year long! We don't have chilly weather, but you can't do any swimming or jogging activities. The right time of the year is determined by your type of vacation. We can breakdown the season.

Where to Stay in Las Vegas on a Budget

You are going to find incredibly high prices for any hotel. The hotel will be open midweek instead of on the weekend. Weekends. You can stay either in Las Vegas or Downtown. It'll get you closer, so you can travel everywhere you wish.

That said: just because this hotel is in the LV doesn't mean they're at the Strip. This area lies between Sunset Road & Sahara Avenue. You can find the map in this handy map.

Get discount show tickets

Shows are often expensive but there are offers. Alternatively one can catch the shows when they debut. There may be discounts on first days or even long. During my last trip to Las Vegas, Cosmopolitan's new Opium exhibition just started its opening.

Tickets previously were priced at $35, and now are available for sale at $89. Another suggestion is to look through online ticket brokers' websites. Vegas.com and Tix4tonight.com both offer excellent discounted tickets to events in Las Vegas. I personally enjoy Vegas's website.

Free & cheap things to do in Las Vegas

Lets talk about how to travel to Las Vegas with minimal expense and how to find cheap hotels. Las Vegas offers many free entertainment options from zip-lining to helicopter trips to the city or... Often times people think these cities are purely meant for making your cash flat. But there really is a huge number of free activities around Vegas. It's only time you know where.

Road trip after visiting Las Vegas

However, combining Vegas with a road trip through the Southwest is a great way to see some of the most beautiful scenery on your vacation! It is possible to visit Zion and see many of the great natural attractions in Utah. You can go a different route and explore the California Coast. There's an infinite choice..

First Friday Art Festival

First Friday is a festival of art that takes place each Friday in Downtown Vegas. Think about it in terms of an enormous block party featuring artist vendors, trucks and musical performances! There are more than just tourists here.

There are also many local residents who enjoy visiting. During the first Friday in the city you'll find this exciting block party in the Arts District (5 p.m.-11 p.m.). It is an awesome way to try out food for a little money!

Every month the food truck changes and offers all kinds of food. Despite having attended First Friday once, your second visit is likely going to be totally different!

Free Line Dancing Lessons at Treasure Island

Do you like country line dancing? Gilleys Treasure Island offers FREE Line Dance lessons from Monday-Friday from 8 p.m. to 8 p.m. It does not require a reservation, but it's available for a simple visit! Please see our drinks specials page.

If you must drive on the Strip, there are a few hotels that will let you park for free

I'm already suggesting avoiding rental cars, relying on public transportation & avoiding the strip at any cost. I have a few tips on how to get around your budget. Parking at the Vegas Strip was once free.

However, the hotel is averaging between $8-20 per day just to park a car in their garage. The Nerves! Nevertheless, some hotels still offer free parking. I have some useful maps for you:

Set a strict budget for food & drink

While Las Vegas is widely known for its food, there is no reason to think that Vegas' food is expensive. The Las Vegas food market consists mostly of restaurants and bars. Other tips for saving on food are going to Happy Hour for excellent food and drink offers.

Happy Hour usually occurs from lunch until evening and usually includes discounts on foods or drinks such as margaritas $5, beer $2 or appetizers. If you're traveling, watch out for happy hour specials advertised in your favourite restaurants or visit the website. Many Las Vegas casinos continue serving drinks to gamblers.

Find a cheap hotels in Las Vegas

Las Vegas offers countless hotel rooms and you will find a place in Las Vegas that you enjoy. There's actually an excellent choice of cheap accommodations. Planning to visit a couple of museums, or attend a couple of shows?

Vegas gets very expensive. Get your Las Vegas pass! You can access many Las Vegas hotspots in one package. In fact, the Explorer Pass has three options for $84. During the three days, it is all-inclusive at $123.

This is 135 for the maximum Las Vegas entertainment on the weekend - Then look and check if there are activities available for this pass, if you have some options it will cover everything.

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

It's not possible to go without sharing that with the whole family. I must take pictures of The Fabulous Las Vegas sign. This sign is located near Sunset Rd. on Las Vegas Boulevard. There's an empty car parking lot and lawn next to this sign and you can wait in an insta-worthy spot for a quick photo!

The Golden Tiki

Golden Tiki is definitely a great happy hour in Vegas. A popular place both in town and abroad - it's a hidden treasure! Its decor is extremely unique, the services are superb, the cocktail craft is tasty (and strong) and there's an awesome location.

Golden Tiki has an entrance to Chinatown just across the Las Vegas Strip. Please arrive early as the place is extremely crowded. Can you list the options for a happy hour?

Visit Hershey Chocolate World

Hershey Chocolate World contains 800 Chocolate and Candy bars at the New York-New Jersey Casino in Las Vegas. I love that you get a Free Sample on your entrance so visit Las Vegas whichever time you like.

View Some Great Photography

The Polaroid Fotobar is located within the Linq Resort Las Vegas and is a favorite among shutterbumps. Before going to the museum you can upload edits and prints of pictures on the first floor.

It also has photos of famous photographers displaying their favourite images as well as a variety of fun photography-themed exhibits. For photographer lovers these trips are very inexpensive in Las Vegas.

You may see high rollers in linq as well. The 550-ft Ferris wheel welcomes visitors for a 30-minute journey in deluxe cabins and an open-air bar. There are fees to use them, but check price to add high rollers to your list.

Gold Strike Hot Springs

Depending how cold a desert is in winter, increase body temperatures by visiting nearby hotsprings. The hike is only for adventurers and the trail is closed from August through April.

Make sure that you can navigate through the large boulders by staking up the steepest of ropes using fixed rope. Gold Strike Hot Springs is regarded despite its challenges as epic and is free for everyone!

Watch the Light Show at Bally's

Each night, the roofs of Ballys'grand bazaar stores come alive. Set on custom-designed musical instruments, these lights feature Swarovski Crystal Starbursts which are reflected in the sky above the Grand Bazar shops which can be seen across Las Vegas Boulevard. The shows begin each night from 8:05 to 10:20.

New York New York Hotel

The best places to photograph New York Hotel are directly across from the Tropicana Casino & Resort. When you get to where the valet gate crosses Las Vegas Boulevard, there will appear fake grass lawns waiting in front of you to photograph.

See the Hoover Dam on a budget

If you want to visit these iconic engineering feats, you'll need to arrive early for less crowds. Parking at the closest location is $10 per vehicle. Access to Centre is $10 per person. These damn trips - Vegas vacations - anyone?! $15 for adults? It's nice that the money will work for you so you can find a solution. However there is no charge for $25/person or $5 parking.

When you want to see Hoover Dam and have no interest in its attractions and tours, go for it. Hot Tip: There are free parking spaces on the Arizona side. The dam is free for walkers to visit.
